Oh my goodness it's that time of year again! It’s June, which means it’s time to celebrate Pride Month! Folks in the LGBTQ+ community have long been incredible supporters of our business and this is a month where we take the opportunity to say thanks and give back! The last three years we’ve celebrated by donating a portion of the month’s sales to different organizations supporting the community and this year will be no different. Same as last year, we will split our donations between 3 different awesome non-profit organizations that support the LGBTQ+ community! In this blog post I’ll detail how and where we’re giving as well as talk about some of the fun stuff we’ll be offering in our drops!
First up, fundraising! There is always a need for donations at MANY worthy causes out there, but we’ve chosen 3 to split this year’s funds between. First off, $5 of EVERY silicone item purchased in the month of June will be going towards these causes. That includes ALL toys and Little Fellas, but excludes things like stickers, toy bags, and pins. Additionally, we’ll be offering a limited number of SPECIAL toy bag bundles in both of the drops and ALL the money from those sales will go towards the donation pool. The toy bag bundles will include a black cotton toy bag with our shop logo in shimmery vinyl (we make these ourselves) and some extra goodies that will vary per drop. Just like last year we'll have big bags and small bags :D
So where are we donating to this year? Well, the first organization is one we donated to last year and the years before that, the Kind Clinic here in Austin, TX. Info from their website: “Kind Clinic was founded in 2015 with the vision of providing sexual wellness and health for all. Since then, we have become a leader in providing Central Texans access to PrEP, PEP, STI testing and treatment, HIV testing and care, gender care, and Telekind, our Telehealth service. Kind Clinic strives to deliver measurable impact for its community by providing state-of-the-art sexual health services to all people, regardless of race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation, without judgement or stigma.” They offer their services for no cost to the patient, and I think that’s a thing worth donating to!

The second organization we’ll be donating to is Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas. It’s no secret that Planned Parenthood is a very important organization that provides much needed services to the community. Right now they are extra under thread of being defunded, so they need our help now more than ever. Info from their website: “Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas creates healthier communities by providing comprehensive reproductive and related healthcare services, delivering science-based education programs, and serving as a strong advocate for reproductive justice in Texas.” They also provide transgender healtcare, which is incredibly important, especially here in the South.

The third organization we’ll be donating to is the same we donated to last year, The Transgender Law Center. Since trans rights are still under vigorous attack in this country, we decided this org was a great place to donate to help fight back. The Transgender Law Center is the largest national trans-led organization advocating self-determination for all people. Grounded in legal expertise and committed to racial justice, they employ a variety of community-driven strategies to keep transgender and gender nonconforming people alive, thriving, and fighting for liberation.

The donation money will be split equally between all 3 orgs at the end of June. None will get more or less than the others. Last year you all helped us donate $2200 each to the Kind Clinic, Planned Parenthood. and the Transgender Law Center and I’m hoping we’ll be able to do even more good this year! And, please, if you’re not able to buy or not interested in our Pride colors, please consider donating to these or any other charity this year that supports the LGBTQ+ community.
To celebrate Pride month and help raise these funds we will have 2 main inventory drops this month, one on Friday June 3rd and the other on Friday June 17th, featuring toys in the colors of as many different Pride flags as we can manage! We’ll have rainbows as well! In addition, we’ve got some other plans for fundraising, but I'm going to wait to see if they actually develop (I'm a bit overworked this year).
On top of the fundraising, we're introducing our newest seasonal model, Qarl! Qarl will be available starting with our first Pride drop on June 3rd and will stay available through the start of September.
