It's that time again! Our favorite time of year, Pride month! We didn't get to do much last year since we were moving to Washington from Texas, but this year we're proper settled into our new home and we're ready to CELEBRATE! (I apologize in advance for the poor formatting, Shopify's website is not allowing me to space things properly :\ )
Business isn't as booming as it was in the early 2020s, but we're still very excited to raise money for some of our favorite LGBTQ+ organizations this year. This year, for the entire month of June, $5 from every order placed will be split between two organizations doing very important work within the community. I intend to put together some Pride grab bags full of fun squishy stuff, as I have in years past, that will go 100% into the fundraiser.
The first place we'll be donating our Pride month proceeds to is the Kind Clinic in Austin, TX! We've chosen them every year we've run this fundraiser because of the amazing work they do for LGBTQ+ folks in a state that very much needs help in that regard. Info from their website: “Kind Clinic was founded in 2015 with the vision of providing sexual wellness and health for all. Since then, we have become a leader in providing Central Texans access to PrEP, PEP, STI testing and treatment, HIV testing and care, gender care, and Telekind, our Telehealth service. Kind Clinic strives to deliver measurable impact for its community by providing state-of-the-art sexual health services to all people, regardless of race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation, without judgement or stigma.” They offer their services for no cost to the patient, and I think that’s a thing worth donating to! The other place we'll be donating this year is the Transgender Law Center. Trans rights are continuously under attack in this country, and this org is doing important work to fight back. The Transgender Law Center is the largest national trans-led organization advocating self-determination for all people. Grounded in legal expertise and committed to racial justice, they employ a variety of community-driven strategies to keep transgender and gender nonconforming people alive, thriving, and fighting for liberation. These are the two places we're donating this year, but there are so many more out there! Even if you're not interested in shopping with us this year, there's still many opportunities to donate to organizations that help the LGBTQ+ community and we strongly encourage folks to do so! Money will be donated at the end of June and we'll post an update once we do with all the money we raised. It's such an amazing month and we're very excited to be fundraising again!
